General Training Program (G) Classes are open to all students. Most classes involve a performance in our year end recital, however someclasses are solely for technique and others may participate in festivals/competitions at the teacher’s discretion. All classes are a nine month commitment, running after school from September 2022 to May 2023. Fees include annual registration, monthly tuition, costume costs for performance classes and the digital download fee for our year end show.
Intensive Training Program (ITP) Dancers must be recommended for this program. Mini’s (ages 5-7) are required to take a minimum of one ballet class per week (PB). Juniors (ages 8-11) must take a minimum of two ballet classes per week. Intermediates & Seniors (ages 12+)must take a minimum of two ballet classes per week plus affiliated modern and jazz technique classes. In addition to weekly classes, please be reminded that there are festival/competition, examination, extra rehearsals and travel commitments associated with the ITP program that require both extra time and financial resources to participate. ALL ITP dancers are required to dance over the summer months – either with THD or at another school. Minis (ages 6-8) are asked to do one week of training over the summer. Junior/Inter/Sr (ages 9+) are asked to do a minimum of two weeks of training over the summer.

Jazz is a diverse, powerful and dynamic dance style. It improves overall coordination and flexibility in a fast paced, challenging and fun environment. Students will focus on isolations, stylization, jumping, turning, progressions and current choreography. Details & Schedule
This style of dance explores self-expression using a combination of jazz, ballet and modern technique. Danced to soft free flowing music, classes will focus on smooth moving techniques that emphasize the lyrics. These classes may involve festival, competition and year-end performance. *Please Note – All dancers (G or ITP) must be enrolled in at least one ballet class per week to participate in any lyrical class.
Contemporary / Open Modern (9-18)
Modern & Contemporary dance is a structured discipline focusing on principles of tension and relaxation, fall and recovery, suspension, contraction and release. Dancers will explore a wide range of movement through improvisation and choreography, increase their flexibility and acquire keen body awareness. Details & Schedule
Tap dancing is one of the most popular and stylish dance forms of all time. It is a fun way to exercise and terrific for developing coordination, rhythm and concentration. Street Dance / Hip Hop (3-18)
Highly intensive and informal, Street / Hip Hop dance is a variety of dance styles that lend itself to the true identity of Hip Hop culture and will encourage students to harness a versatile, personal and individual style. Details & Schedule
Musical Theatre (4-18)
These Song & Dance classes are designed for the Triple Threat. Bring your dance technique into a class designed to teach and enhance vocal and acting skills for future endeavors in the performing arts.
