About Us

Triple Heat Dance – Academy of Performing Arts is heading into its 13th season under the ownership of Livea Gill Harding and Michelle Hillier. THD is a community minded school dedicated to providing quality dance instruction for students as young as 1.5 years to as old as 70+ years.

With our experienced and qualified instructors we are proud to offer many unique programs in multiple disciplines for all ages and abilities:

  • Little Feet Dance is for ages 1.5 to 6, providing lessons in creative movement, ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop and musical theatre. Part of this program is our Tiny Feet & Me and All Abilities dance classes for children with diverse abilities.
  • General Dance is geared for the recreational dancer ages 7+. All styles are offered, including ballet, jazz, lyrical, musical theatre, variety, tap and hip hop. This full year program culminates in a professionally produced recital for family and friends.
  • Intensive Training Dance isavailable for dancers ages 6+ who are recommended for this program based on their skills and work ethic. ITP dancers follow an intensive training schedule and participate in various festivals, competitions, community minded events and examinations.
  • Adult Dance is held as shorter sessional programs offering adult dancers the option of taking classes in ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, belly dance and of course our specialized Silver Swan ballet for ages 55+ and All Abilities dance for adults with diverse abilities.

As a studio, we not only seek to create well trained dancers and healthy children and young adults through physical activity, but we also try to foster socially minded children and youth. We encourage our dancers and families to give back to the community – this support includes annual performances in the CVCDC telethon and Christmas parade as well as in studio fundraising programs raising monies for families and the elderly in the community; donating to Christmas hamper programs, Comox Valley Food Banks, and Comox Valley Children’s Association throughout the year.

We are incredibly proud of our students who prove themselves, time and again, to be committed dancers who love what they do. We strive to give our dancers the tools they need to be successful, confident, self-motivated, kind and hard-working individuals.

“Behind every dancer who believes in themselves is a teacher who believed in them first”
