About Us

Triple Heat Dance – Academy of Performing Arts is heading into its 12th season under the ownership of Livea Gill Harding and Michelle Hillier.

THD is a community minded school providing quality dance instruction to students from recreational to pre-professional levels. Students are nurtured in a dedicated and vibrant environment receiving instruction from specialized teachers in each type of dance.

We are proud to offer unique programming in multiple disciplines. Little Feet Dance, ages 3-6, offers lessons in ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop and musical theatre. Our General Dance Program is geared for the recreational dancer ages 7+. All styles are offered, including ballet, jazz, lyrical, musical theatre, tap and hip hop. The year culminates in a professionally produced recital for family and friends.  We are also thrilled to be returning to Comox, BC, offering sessional little feet and general programs in ballet & jazz combo classes available Wednesdays at the Little Red Church.

The Intensive Training Program, is available for dancers ages 7+. Dancers must be recommended for this program and show that they can achieve basic technical skills as well as meet commitment requirements to participate each year. ITP dancers, in addition to their intensive training schedule, participate in our Christmas show, various festivals and competitions, community minded events as well as being eligible for extra opportunities such as photo shoots and filming events. Examination programs are also offered in ballet and tap disciplines. Many of our ITP dancers have moved on to esteemed programs, such as Arts Umbrella Graduate ProgramRyerson University dance program, Sheridan College’s prestigious musical theatre program, the National Ballet of Canada and Royal Winnipeg Ballet School. Please come and speak us to see if our ITP program would be a good fit for your dancer.

As a studio, we not only seek to create healthy children and young adults through physical activity, but we also try to create socially minded children and youth. We look forward each year to performing in the annual Christmas Parade, Cumberland Victoria Day Parade, Nautical Days and more. We encourage our dancers to give back to the community – through the studio supporting families and the elderly through the Salvation Army Christmas Hamper Program, Adopt a Grand Parent program, donations to the Comox Valley Food Bank, to YANA and the Comox Valley Children’s Association.

We are incredibly proud of our students who prove themselves, time and again, to be committed dancers who love what they do. We strive to give dancers the tools they need to be successful, confident, self-motivated, kind and hard working.
