JAZZ
Bodysuit, tights and/or shorts or leggings + black jazz shoes.
LYRICAL
Bodysuit, tights and/or shorts or leggings + bare feet or skin-tone half soles.
HIP HOP / STREET
Loose, baggy clothing + clean indoor running shoes (white soles preferred).
MODERN
Bodysuit, tights and/or shorts, leggings or studio pants + plain black socks. Layers are great for floor work!
TAP
Bodysuit, tights and/or shorts, leggings + tap shoes.
MUSICAL THEATRE & MODERN STAGE
Bodysuit, tights and/or shorts, leggings + black jazz shoes. Character shoes may be requested by the teacher.
ADULT CLASSES
Form-fitting dancewear is recommended — much like what you might wear to a yoga class.
• Adult Ballet: Leather or canvas ballet shoes
• Adult Tap: Tap shoes
• Adult Jazz: Jazz shoes or dance socks with some grip
• Adult Hip Hop: Loose, baggy clothing + clean indoor running shoes (white soles preferred)
As always, comfort and the ability to move freely are the most important things! If you’re unsure about what your dancer needs for a particular class, just reach out and we’re happy to help.
BALLET:
Little Feet Ballet & Primary Ballet: Coloured leotard of your choosing with light pink tights or white thin ankle sock and pink ballet shoes. We have lilac leotards and chiffon skirts available for purchase/order through the studio if needing an outfit.
General / Open Ballet: Black or any solid colour leotard with pink Capezio ballet tights and leather or canvas ballet shoes.
ITP / RAD Ballet Dance Unform: *Required for exam and technique classes*
*All RAD uniform leotards will be available to purchase through the studio office in the fall.
ITP – Level’s 1-3 – Renaissance Tank Leotard with light pink ballet tights (purchase/order through the studio).
ITP – Level 4 – Ink Blue Camisole Tank Leotard with light pink ballet tights (purchase/order through studio)
ITP – Level 5-7 – Any leotard of choice
*Character skirts and shoes for Grades 1-5 will be rented through the studio.
*Chiffon skirts are allowed for all dancers.
*All Ballet students must wear hair in a neat bun – there are many great YouTube videos on how to make a proper ballet bun.
*During the winter months a wrap-around ballet warm-up sweater is recommended. Leg warmers and dance warm ups are also permitted for use in cold weather.
